Awards Day for Maya!

Maya received a few awards today at school for her academic performance! She received 2 reading awards - one sponsored by the State of Florida, and the other for collecting 313 AR points! She has also maintained 3 semesters of straight A's and it is looking good for the full school year.

We are very proud of her!

Maya's AR Award!

In order to get an AR (Accelerated Reader) Award, kids had to have collected at least 200 AR points. Maya accumulated a total of 313 points for the year!
Way to go Maya!

Old Friends are the best!

Maya got a chance to see Julia today in Jacksonville. She and Julia were in school together Kindergarten through 2nd grade.

Leigh's Visit

Leigh came and visited us this weekend and we had a great time! Leigh and Janet caught a movie together and we all went out to dinner Saturday night. On Sunday, we went to the Palm Beach Zoo and had a great time. Monday was another movie day and Leigh, Maya and Janet went to see Coraline in 3-D. Leigh and Maya also had a pretty fierce Cooking Mama Cook-Off competition on the Wii! A good time was had by all!

Straight A's! Part II

Maya brought home another report card with straight A's this semester! She worked really hard to maintain her grades, struggling a little bit in science but ultimately focusing and improving her grades all aroud.

She got to go to another breakfast to celebrate the honor roll and we are almost as proud of her accomplishment as she is!

Happy Birthday Tito!

Tito celebrated his 42nd birthday yesterday and Maya and I baked him and cake! We had pizza for dinner and had a really nice time!

Birthday Party!

Maya had a small party with her friends Ashley and Camilla. We went to Boomers! in Boca and the girls played video games, laser tag & we rode go karts!

We came back to the house and had a tasty spaghetti dinner and birthday cake.

After, the girls snuggled up on the couch and watched the Lemony Snicket movie. We had a great time!

Happy Birthday Maya!

Maya celebrated her 10th birthday on January 14th with dinner at the Olive Garden and cake at home with her mom, dad, and grandmama. She got some neat gifts including a HUGE elephant (now named Trunks), a beautiful necklace with her name on it, and a ring with a garnet (her birthstone).

DC Fun!

Maya, Tito, Grandpa & Janet went to DC to the Smithsonian Museum of American History! We met Leigh and James there and had a great time!

New Year's Eve

On New Year's Eve Maya had a great time bowling with her cousins - Kaylee, Rebecca & Colin. Later on, we went over to Chris & Tracy's and the girls played and we had pizza!
